The Spears 807-010 is a 1-inch PVC Schedule 80 90-degree elbow with a slip (socket) inlet and female pipe thread (FPT) outlet, designed for direction changes in high-pressure industrial piping systems where a smooth transition from solvent-welded pipe to a threaded connection is required. Its combination end configuration makes it one of the most versatile 90° fittings in the Schedule 80 lineup — allowing a permanent, solvent-cemented joint on the socket side and a serviceable or removable threaded connection on the FPT side.

Manufactured to ASTM D2467 (socket end) and ASTM D2464 (threaded end) standards, this elbow meets the technical demands of commercial and industrial plumbing, chemical handling, and process piping applications where standard Schedule 40 pressure ratings are insufficient. The FPT outlet governs the pressure rating of this fitting, so system designers should reference the threaded-end specification when sizing for pressure service.

Like all Spears Schedule 80 fittings, the 807-010 is produced in dark gray PVC compound for quick visual identification in mixed-schedule systems. It is NSF/ANSI 61 listed, qualifying it for use in potable water distribution and water treatment infrastructure.

At 1 inch, the socket end falls within normal solvent cement application range using a medium-bodied Schedule 80 cement per manufacturer guidelines. PTFE thread tape or an appropriate thread sealant compound is recommended on the FPT end at assembly.

Industries & Applications

Commercial & Industrial Plumbing The slip × FPT configuration is a standard transition point in commercial plumbing rough-ins, allowing a change of direction while transitioning to threaded equipment connections, valves, or instrumentation ports.

Chemical Processing & Water Treatment PVC Schedule 80 provides superior chemical resistance compared to Schedule 40, making this elbow suitable for pH-neutral to mildly aggressive fluid service in treatment plants, chemical feed systems, and industrial process lines.

Irrigation & Agricultural Systems The FPT outlet allows direct connection to threaded spray heads, solenoid valves, and control manifolds in commercial agricultural irrigation infrastructure.

Municipal Water Distribution NSF/ANSI 61 listing supports use in potable water service, including plant interconnects and distribution laterals where threaded valve tie-ins are required.

HVAC & Mechanical Systems Used in cooling tower piping, chilled water service, and other mechanical applications where PVC is the specified pipe material and directional changes coincide with threaded equipment connections.

Aquaculture & Pool/Spa Infrastructure The chemical resistance of Schedule 80 PVC and NSF certification make this elbow appropriate for recirculating water systems, filter loops, and chlorinated service lines.
