2" Rusco Spin Down 60 Mesh Filter 60 (2-60-F)

The Rusco 2" Spin-Down Sediment Filter (2-60-F) is a high-capacity, whole-line sediment pre-filter built for commercial, agricultural, and industrial water systems that move serious volume. Fitted with a 60 mesh polyester screen — rated at 254 microns — it captures fine sand, grit, pipe scale, shale, and medium-fine particulate before it can reach downstream valves, pump impellers, drip emitters, or treatment equipment operating at flow rates up to 100 GPM.

The 60 mesh rating occupies a practical middle ground in the Rusco screen lineup. It's fine enough to stop the sand and grit that erode valve seats, clog drip emitters, and shorten pump seal life, while coarse enough to handle heavier sediment loads in agricultural or surface water applications without fouling rapidly or requiring constant flushing. For systems where the 100 mesh screen loads up too quickly due to high sediment volume, or where the primary concern is medium-fine sand rather than very fine silt, the 60 mesh is often the correct choice — and the screen can be swapped to a finer or coarser rating at any time without replacing the housing.

At the 2" size, this filter is purpose-built for volume. With a flow range of 18–100 GPM and a maximum working pressure of 150 PSI, the 2-60-F handles the demands of large-scale irrigation mainlines, high-capacity well systems, commercial buildings, and light industrial process water applications without creating a pressure bottleneck. The 2" slip (socket) connections solvent cement directly onto Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe — no transition fittings or adapters required in an all-PVC system.

The transparent polycarbonate bowl provides a continuous visual read on sediment accumulation — when the bowl fills, open the bottom flush valve and Rusco's patented centrifugal spin-down action purges collected sediment in seconds without interrupting the water supply or removing any components. The polyester screen is fully reusable — pull it, rinse it, and reinstall it — with no cartridge replacement costs over the life of the unit.

Rusco filters are manufactured from NSF-listed, FDA-grade materials, proudly made and assembled in the USA, and backed by a 12-month manufacturer's warranty.

Industries & Applications:

  • Commercial Irrigation & Agriculture — The 60 mesh rating is the standard recommendation for irrigation mainline filtration; it stops the fine sand that clogs drip emitters and micro-sprinklers while handling the higher sediment loads common in agricultural water sources; the 2" size and 100 GPM capacity keep up with large commercial irrigation systems without restricting mainline pressure
  • High-Capacity Well Water Systems — Used at the pump discharge or pressure tank outlet on high-yield wells serving farms, commercial properties, or multi-unit housing where a 2" service line is standard; the 60 mesh targets the sand and grit most damaging to pump seals, valves, and downstream equipment at high flow rates
  • Surface Water & Pond Intake Systems — For systems drawing from ponds, streams, or reservoirs, the 60 mesh provides practical first-stage filtration to remove coarse-to-medium sand and debris before water reaches finer treatment equipment
  • Geothermal & Open-Loop Systems — Protects heat exchangers and pump components from medium-fine sand and particulate in groundwater on open-loop geothermal installations piped in 2" PVC
  • Municipal & Industrial Pre-Treatment — Installed upstream of water softeners, iron filters, UV disinfection, and multimedia filtration systems to remove bulk sediment and extend downstream media and cartridge life at high flow rates
  • Poultry & Livestock Operations — Protects automatic waterers, nipple drinkers, fogger nozzles, and evaporative cooling pad supply lines from sand and grit in agricultural water sources at the flow volumes required by large operations
  • Light Commercial & Industrial Process Water — Equipment protection on process water supply lines, cooling water circuits, and recirculating systems where medium-fine particulate could damage pumps, valves, or precision control components
