22 1/2 Degree Elbow, Slip x Slip PVC Schedule 80 2" (865-020)
The 865-020 is a 2" PVC Schedule 80 22-1/2 degree elbow in a slip x slip (socket x socket) configuration. Both ends accept 2" plain-end pipe for solvent welding, producing a permanent, chemically fused joint on both sides of the fitting. The 22-1/2° bend angle provides a shallow directional change in the pipe run — one that cannot be achieved by deflecting straight pipe or by combining standard 45° and 90° elbows without introducing unnecessary fittings into the assembly.
The 22-1/2° elbow occupies a specific and intentional role in pressure piping design. Where a 45° or 90° elbow introduces an abrupt directional change that may not align with the routing geometry of the system, the 22-1/2° fitting allows the pipeline to follow a gradual angular offset — navigating around obstructions, matching building geometry, aligning with equipment ports set at odd angles, or splitting the angle of a larger direction change across two fittings for a smoother overall transition. It is also commonly used in pairs to produce a 45° offset across a short parallel run, or combined with a 45° elbow to achieve a precise 67-1/2° change of direction.
Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness standards from rigid PVC compound, the 865-020 carries the elevated pressure ratings required for demanding industrial and commercial service. Like all Schedule 80 PVC fittings, it is fully resistant to corrosion, chemical attack, and biological fouling — with none of the weight, rust, or galvanic concerns associated with metal elbows of equivalent pressure rating.

Industries & Applications:
- Industrial Process Piping — Navigating shallow directional changes in 2" Schedule 80 process lines around structural obstructions or equipment without introducing a full 45° or 90° elbow
- Chemical Processing — Routing chemical supply or return headers along building geometry or equipment layouts that require precise shallow-angle direction changes
- Water Treatment & Municipal — Aligning treatment plant or pump station piping with equipment ports, wall penetrations, or header connections set at non-standard angles
- Irrigation Systems — Offsetting 2" Schedule 80 mainlines around subsurface obstructions or transitioning between pipe runs that are not parallel or perpendicular
- Commercial Plumbing — Matching piping routes to building geometry, structural offsets, or mechanical room layouts where a 45° or 90° elbow would over-rotate the run
- Industrial HVAC & Cooling — Routing chilled water or process cooling lines through mechanical spaces where precise shallow-angle bends are required to maintain clearances and alignment
