22 1/2 Degree Elbow, Slip x Slip PVC Schedule 80 2" (865-020)

The 865-020 is a 2" PVC Schedule 80 22-1/2 degree elbow in a slip x slip (socket x socket) configuration. Both ends accept 2" plain-end pipe for solvent welding, producing a permanent, chemically fused joint on both sides of the fitting. The 22-1/2° bend angle provides a shallow directional change in the pipe run — one that cannot be achieved by deflecting straight pipe or by combining standard 45° and 90° elbows without introducing unnecessary fittings into the assembly.

The 22-1/2° elbow occupies a specific and intentional role in pressure piping design. Where a 45° or 90° elbow introduces an abrupt directional change that may not align with the routing geometry of the system, the 22-1/2° fitting allows the pipeline to follow a gradual angular offset — navigating around obstructions, matching building geometry, aligning with equipment ports set at odd angles, or splitting the angle of a larger direction change across two fittings for a smoother overall transition. It is also commonly used in pairs to produce a 45° offset across a short parallel run, or combined with a 45° elbow to achieve a precise 67-1/2° change of direction.
