The 475-080 is an 8" Schedule 40 PVC full-size wye with slip socket connections on all three outlets. Unlike a standard tee, which introduces flow at a sharp 90° angle, the wye's 45° branch geometry allows fluid — and any entrained solids — to enter or exit the main run along a gradual, directionally consistent path. This hydraulic advantage makes the wye the preferred branch fitting over a tee in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications, gravity-flow drainage networks, and any system where reducing turbulence, minimizing head loss, and preventing solids accumulation at the branch junction are design priorities.

At 8", the hydraulic performance characteristics of the wye geometry carry particular weight.
