The 2" PVC Schedule 80 45 Degree Elbow FPT x FPT (819-020) provides a controlled 45-degree directional change in threaded PVC piping systems where Schedule 80 construction is required for pressure service, chemical exposure, or mechanical durability. Manufactured from rigid gray PVC conforming to ASTM D1784 Cell Class 12454, this elbow is built to the dimensional and pressure standards expected in industrial, municipal, and commercial Schedule 80 threaded PVC applications.

Both ends are machined with 2" FPT (female pipe thread) connections conforming to NPT standards, accepting standard 2" male-threaded pipe, nipples, fittings, valves, or instruments on each side. The all-female-thread configuration makes this elbow straightforward to incorporate into threaded PVC systems—each connection simply receives a male-threaded counterpart sealed with PTFE tape or an appropriate thread sealant compatible with PVC. Unlike solvent-weld configurations, threaded joints remain separable, allowing the elbow and surrounding fittings to be disassembled for maintenance, reconfiguration, or equipment service without cutting into the pipeline.

The 45-degree turn angle is the critical distinction from a standard 90-degree elbow. Where a 90° elbow executes a full quarter-turn that can create turbulence and pressure drop at higher flow velocities, a 45° elbow produces a gentler, more gradual directional change that reduces flow disturbance and head loss in the piping run. This makes the 819-020 particularly well suited for pump discharge piping, flow-sensitive process lines, and systems where minimizing pressure drop through the fitting count is an engineering priority. Two 45° elbows can also be combined to achieve an offset routing that a 90° elbow cannot—useful when navigating structural obstacles, equipment clearances, or tight mechanical room layouts.

At 2", this elbow is appropriately sized for chemical feed lines, pump discharge and suction connections, secondary process loops, instrumentation headers, and branch service lines across a broad range of industrial and commercial applications. Schedule 80 construction delivers the increased wall thickness and pressure capacity needed in higher-demand service conditions compared to Schedule 40. Gray PVC provides broad resistance to acids, bases, salts, and a wide range of industrial process fluids. For elevated-temperature service above 140°F, refer to CPVC Schedule 80 equivalents.

Industries & Applications:

  • Chemical Processing — Gentle directional changes on chemical feed, dosing, and transfer lines where minimizing turbulence and pressure drop through threaded fittings is important
  • Water & Wastewater Treatment — 45-degree offsets on pump discharge piping, chemical injection headers, and treatment system branch lines in threaded Schedule 80 configurations
  • Industrial Manufacturing — Threaded process piping layout offsets at equipment connections, wall penetrations, and structural clearance points in Schedule 80 industrial systems
  • Irrigation & Agriculture — Pump station threaded discharge and chemical injection line offsets where a gradual directional change is preferred over a sharp 90-degree turn
  • Municipal Infrastructure — Lift station, water distribution, and treatment plant threaded piping directional changes where Schedule 80 is specified and low-turbulence flow routing is desired
  • Aquaculture & Aquatics — Recirculating system pump and filtration piping offsets in threaded Schedule 80 assemblies where flow efficiency is a priority
  • HVAC & Plumbing — Commercial mechanical systems with threaded Schedule 80 PVC piping requiring 45-degree directional changes at equipment connections and riser offsets
