The 806-168 is a 1-1/4" x 1" PVC Schedule 80 reducing 90 degree elbow in a slip x slip (socket x socket) configuration. The 1-1/4" socket end accepts plain-end pipe for solvent welding on the inlet side, while the 1" socket end does the same on the outlet — delivering both a 90° direction change and a one-step size reduction in a single fitting, without requiring a standard elbow followed by a separate reducer or bushing downstream.

The combination of direction change and size reduction in a single body is the defining value of this fitting. In systems where a 90° turn and a pipe size reduction occur at the same point in the routing — at an equipment connection, a panel penetration, a branch transition, or a change in service requirement — the 806-168 eliminates what would otherwise be two fittings in series. Fewer fittings in series means fewer potential leak points, a more compact assembly, and a cleaner installation in tight mechanical spaces where stacking a standard elbow and a reducer or bushing creates clearance problems.

The one-step reduction from 1-1/4" to 1" is a moderate size change that keeps the velocity increase across the fitting within acceptable limits for most standard process, plumbing, and irrigation applications. The 90° geometry produces a full perpendicular direction change — the most common elbow angle in pressure piping — while the reducing outlet transitions flow directly into the smaller downstream pipe size at the same point in the assembly.

Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness standards from rigid PVC compound, the 806-168 carries the elevated pressure ratings required for demanding industrial and commercial service on both the inlet and outlet ends. Like all Schedule 80 PVC fittings, it is fully resistant to corrosion, chemical attack, and biological fouling — with none of the weight, rust, or galvanic concerns associated with metal reducing elbows of equivalent pressure rating.

Industries & Applications:

  • Industrial Process Piping — Combining a 90° direction change with a one-step size reduction at equipment inlets, panel penetrations, or service transitions in compact Schedule 80 process assemblies
  • Chemical Processing — Routing chemical feed or dosing lines around corners while simultaneously stepping down to a smaller pipe size at the point of direction change, eliminating a stacked elbow-and-reducer assembly
  • Water Treatment & Municipal — Transitioning between pipe sizes at a 90° turn point in treatment plant or pump station piping where a compact, single-fitting solution is required
  • Irrigation Systems — Changing direction and reducing pipe size simultaneously on Schedule 80 control manifolds or equipment connections where space around the fitting is limited
  • Commercial Plumbing — Installing reducing corner connections in high-pressure mechanical piping where a direction change and size reduction at the same point would otherwise require two fittings in series
  • Industrial HVAC & Cooling — Routing chilled water or chemical treatment lines around structural or equipment constraints while stepping down to a smaller service branch in a single compact fitting
