The insert (barbed) end is sized to insert fully into the bore of compatible 1-1/2" flexible polyethylene irrigation pipe, corrugated drain tubing, or other insert-compatible flexible pipe, with the pipe interior sliding over the barbed profile for a mechanically secure connection. A stainless steel or galvanized hose clamp applied over the pipe exterior at the barb location provides the clamping force needed to maintain a pressure-tight seal at the connection — a separate clamp is required and not included with the fitting. The slip socket end accepts 1-1/2" PVC pipe for a permanent solvent-cement bond on the rigid PVC side, completing the flexible-to-rigid material transition in a single fitting body.
