This 1-1/2" Schedule 80 PVC FPT Cap provides a permanent or temporary threaded closure at any 1-1/2" male-threaded pipe end, nipple, or male-threaded fitting in a pressurized PVC piping system. The internally threaded female NPT socket engages any standard 1-1/2" MPT connection, sealing the line end against pressure, flow, and fluid loss with a reliable thread-and-sealant mechanical closure.

As a terminal fitting, the 848-015 serves a broad range of closure and isolation functions across the life of a piping system. Rated to 630 psi at 73°F, this cap is well suited for demanding pressure service across a wide range of fluid handling applications. Apply PTFE tape or compatible thread sealant to the male threads before engaging the FPT cap. Hand-tighten plus one to two turns — do not over-torque PVC female threads, as excessive force risks cracking the cap body at the thread root. When used for pressure testing, verify that the cap and all adjacent fittings are rated to the intended test pressure and that appropriate pressure relief provisions are in place before pressurizing.
