The 4" PVC Schedule 80 FPT Cap (848-040) is a threaded end cap designed to seal the open end of a 4" male-threaded pipe, nipple, or fitting — providing a clean, pressure-rated pipe termination that can be installed and removed without disturbing the rest of the system. The female pipe thread (FPT) accepts any standard 4" MPT connection, threading on with pipe thread sealant for a secure, leak-resistant closure that holds system pressure and protects the open pipe end from contamination, debris ingress, or unintended flow.

As a threaded fitting, the 848-040 offers a meaningful serviceability advantage over solvent-welded PVC caps — where a slip cap creates a permanent, non-removable closure, the FPT cap can be backed off and reinstalled as system conditions require.
