The slip socket accepts standard 3" Schedule 80 or Schedule 40 PVC pipe for solvent cementing, forming a permanent, pressure-rated bond that is fully integrated into the pipe system once cured. There are no threads, no gaskets, and no mechanical fasteners — the cemented joint is the termination.

The slip cap is the straightforward permanent termination solution for PVC pressure systems. Where a threaded FPT cap (848-030) allows the termination point to be removed and reopened without cutting pipe, the slip cap is intended for line ends that are not expected to be reopened — dead-end branch stubs, system endpoints, pressure test terminations, and capped-off ports that will remain sealed for the life of the installation. For applications where future access to the terminated end is anticipated, the FPT cap is the more appropriate specification; for permanent terminations where simplicity, joint integrity, and pressure rating are the governing factors, the slip cap is the correct choice.
