This 1" Schedule 40 PVC Threaded Coupling (FPT x FPT) provides a straight-through inline connection for two 1" male NPT-threaded pipe ends, nipples, or fitting outlets in all-threaded PVC piping systems — the standard fitting for joining two threaded components inline without introducing solvent-cement joints or directional changes into the assembly. Constructed in white Schedule 40 PVC, it offers the corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility required across a wide range of commercial plumbing, irrigation, and light industrial fluid handling applications where threaded construction is specified or preferred throughout the system.

Both the inlet and outlet are cut to 1" FPT (Female Pipe Thread) geometry per NPT tapered thread standards, each accepting any standard 1" male NPT pipe end, nipple, or fitting for a pressure-tight mechanical connection when made up with thread sealant or PTFE tape. As the fundamental straight-through connector in all-threaded PVC assemblies, the FPT coupling joins two male-threaded components in a continuous inline run — at pipe-to-pipe extension joints where a longer threaded run requires two nipple sections, at repair sections where a damaged nipple or pipe length must be replaced inline, at valve station assemblies where a male-threaded transition fitting must connect to a downstream male-threaded pipe section, and at distribution manifold assembly points where two male-threaded components must be joined without a direction change at the connection. Install using a quality pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape on both male NPT pipe ends before engagement.
