The 830-020 is a 2" PVC Schedule 80 full coupling in an FPT x FPT (female pipe thread x female pipe thread) configuration. The all-FPT configuration is the defining characteristic of the 830-series. Where a slip coupling creates a permanent solvent-welded joint on both ends, the fully threaded design allows either end to be assembled and disassembled independently — a meaningful advantage in systems where the coupling itself, or the components connected on either side, may need to be accessed, replaced, or repositioned over the life of the system.
