The 829-167 is a PVC Schedule 80 reducing slip coupling designed to connect a 1-1/4" pipe run to a 3/4" pipe run using solvent-weld socket ends on both sides. Schedule 80's thicker wall construction provides higher pressure ratings and greater mechanical strength compared to Schedule 40, making this coupling a reliable choice where elevated pressures, industrial chemical exposure, or demanding service conditions are present.

The slip (socket) end configuration allows for straightforward solvent cement installation — no threads to tape or torque, just a clean, permanent bond that becomes integral to the piping system. Reducing couplings like the 829-167 are used wherever a flow path needs to step down in diameter in-line, whether for pressure management, equipment connection, or system design purposes.

Manufactured from rigid PVC Type I, Grade I (Cell Classification 12454) material, this fitting offers excellent corrosion resistance across a wide range of chemicals, acids, and bases. It is NSF/ANSI 61 listed for potable water contact and UV-resistant enough for indoor installation, though prolonged outdoor UV exposure without protective coating should be avoided.

Industries & Applications:

  • Industrial & Chemical Processing — Step-down connections between process lines carrying acids, bases, or corrosive fluids where metal fittings would degrade
  • Water Treatment & Distribution — NSF 61 listing supports use in potable water systems requiring pipe diameter reductions
  • Irrigation & Agricultural Systems — Reducing connections between main supply lines and smaller lateral runs or drip headers
  • Commercial Plumbing & Mechanical — Inline diameter transitions in cold water service, recirculating systems, or equipment supply lines
  • Aquaculture & Pool/Spa Systems — Corrosion-free performance in chlorinated or saline water environments
  • Marine & Offshore Applications — Immune to the rust and corrosion that limits metal fittings in saltwater-adjacent environments
