Flange (Solid Style), Slip PVC Schedule 80 4" (851-040)

The 851-040 is a 4" Schedule 80 PVC Solid Style Flange with a Slip socket connection. Solid style flanges are one-piece, fixed-face fittings — the flange ring and socket body are permanently integrated, providing a rigid, non-rotating connection point for bolting directly to pumps, valves, tank outlets, flow meters, strainers, and other flanged equipment or mating flange assemblies.

Unlike Van Stone style flanges, which use a two-piece rotating lap ring and stub end assembly, the solid style flange is a single bonded unit. The slip socket is solvent cemented to the pipe end, forming a permanent, pressure-rated bond, while the flat flange face presents a standard bolt pattern for hardware connection to any ANSI Class 150 mating flange. A full-face or ring gasket seats against the flange face to complete the pressure seal at the bolted joint.

At 4", this fitting is sized for higher-flow industrial applications — pump stations, chemical metering systems, water treatment plant piping, and process skids where large-diameter PVC is specified for its corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility. Schedule 80 wall thickness ensures the fitting meets the higher pressure demands of these environments, outperforming Schedule 40 flanges where system pressures or chemical exposures require a more robust specification.

The dark gray rigid PVC compound resists a broad range of acids, bases, and industrial chemicals, making this flange a long-service alternative to metal flanges in corrosive service where iron, steel, or even stainless would be subject to degradation.

Specifications:

⚠️ Note: Pressure ratings decrease at elevated temperatures. Always use a compatible full-face gasket and torque flange bolts evenly to manufacturer specifications to avoid cracking the flange face. Never over-torque PVC flanges.
