This 2-1/2" Schedule 40 PVC Spigot Plug provides a permanent, solvent-cement closure for any standard 2-1/2" socket-end fitting hub — including tee branch outlets, cross ports, coupling ends, and valve bodies — in commercial and light industrial PVC piping systems. Constructed in white Schedule 40 PVC, it offers the corrosion resistance and chemical compatibility required across a wide range of fluid handling applications where an unused socket port must be sealed definitively and flush with the surrounding fitting body.

The spigot (male plain end) is sized to insert directly into the hub of any standard 2-1/2" socket-end fitting and is solvent-cemented in place to form a permanent, leak-free closure at the joint face. Unlike a threaded plug, which can be removed and reinstalled, a solvent-cemented spigot plug creates a permanent bond — making it the appropriate choice when an unused port is being closed out for the life of the system rather than temporarily blocked for future service. Apply solvent cement to the spigot exterior and the interior of the receiving socket hub per ASTM D2564 procedures, inserting the plug fully and holding briefly for initial set. Ensure the spigot is fully seated before the cement begins to set — partial insertion at large diameters can result in an incomplete joint. Allow adequate cure time before pressurizing the system, and derate pressure ratings for elevated temperatures per published derating curves.
