The 849-015 is the permanent closure for socket ports where that flexibility is not required.

The higher pressure rating at 1-1/2" compared to the 2" counterpart (849-020) reflects the greater wall thickness relative to bore diameter at this smaller Schedule 80 pipe size — a meaningful advantage in high-pressure process systems and chemical dosing headers where the 1-1/2" socket port closure must hold the full system operating pressure without becoming the weakest component in the assembly.
