This 1" Schedule 80 PVC Spigot Plug provides a permanent, solvent-cement closure for any standard 1" socket-end fitting hub — including tee branch outlets, cross ports, coupling ends, and valve bodies — in industrial, chemical, and commercial PVC piping systems requiring Schedule 80 pressure ratings. Constructed in dark gray Schedule 80 PVC, it delivers the elevated wall thickness and pressure capacity required in demanding installations where standard Schedule 40 fittings are insufficient and where an unused socket port must be sealed definitively and flush with the surrounding fitting body.

The spigot (male plain end) is sized to insert directly into the hub of any standard 1" socket-end fitting and is solvent-cemented in place to form a permanent, leak-free closure at the joint face. Unlike a threaded plug, which can be removed and reinstalled, a solvent-cemented spigot plug creates a permanent bond — making it the appropriate choice when an unused port is being closed out for the life of the system rather than temporarily blocked for future service. At 1", this plug is commonly used to close out branch outlets on Schedule 80 tees, crosses, and manifold bodies in process piping, chemical distribution headers, and industrial water treatment assemblies where one or more socket ports are not required in the current installation but were part of a standard fitting configuration.

Apply solvent cement to the spigot exterior and the interior of the receiving socket hub per ASTM D2564 procedures, inserting the plug fully and holding briefly for initial set. Ensure the spigot is fully seated before the cement begins to set — partial insertion can result in an incomplete joint with reduced pressure integrity. Allow adequate cure time before pressurizing the system, and derate pressure ratings for elevated temperatures per published derating curves.
