The C637-623 is a 10" x 3" Class 125 PVC reducer bushing with a slip spigot (male slip) on the 10" end and a slip socket on the 3" end. Sharing the same nominal dimensions and connection type as its Schedule 40 counterpart (437-623), the C637-623 is distinguished by its Class 125 pressure designation — a rating that reflects the fitting's wall geometry is optimized for systems operating at or below 125 PSI at 73°F rather than the higher pressure thresholds of Schedule 40 construction.

Like all bushing-style reducers, the C637-623 accomplishes its diameter transition in a single compact fitting: the 10" spigot inserts directly into any compatible 10" slip socket — a tee, elbow, coupling, valve body, or equipment connection — while the 3" socket accepts the downstream pipe or fitting, completing a seven-inch nominal reduction without an intermediate coupling or additional components between fittings.

At 10", Class 125 is a well-established and cost-effective fitting standard for large-diameter PVC piping where working pressures fall within the 125 PSI envelope. Gravity-flow drainage, low-pressure irrigation mains, stormwater conveyance, and municipal non-pressure distribution lines routinely operate within this range, making Class 125 the practical and economical alternative to Schedule 40 when the system's pressure requirements do not demand heavier wall construction. The 3" socket outlet is generously sized for full-port ball valves, gate valves, check valves, and 3" pipe runs — well beyond an instrument tap — making this bushing suitable for dedicated valve assemblies, bypass circuits, drain laterals, and moderate-flow branch connections off a 10" Class 125 main.

Both ends use solvent-weld connections. The 10" spigot is machined to IPS outside diameter tolerances for a precise fit in any 10" slip socket fitting, and the 3" socket accepts standard IPS-dimension PVC pipe or fittings bonded with standard PVC solvent cement. At the 10" spigot end, heavy-bodied cement is the recommended grade given the socket depth and coverage area at large diameter. Manufactured from virgin PVC compound to ASTM D2466, the C637-623 carries the white color standard for PVC pressure fittings and is NSF/ANSI 61 listed for potable water service.

Industries & Applications:

  • Municipal Water Distribution — Low-to-moderate pressure service lateral, blow-off assembly, and 3" branch valve connections off 10" Class 125 distribution mains where system operating pressure falls within the 125 PSI envelope; bushing format seats directly in an existing 10" tee or elbow socket without additional transition fittings
  • Large-Scale Irrigation & Agriculture — Step-down transitions from 10" Class 125 irrigation supply headers and pivot system primary feed lines to 3" zone valve stations, filter assemblies, and pressure regulator connections on large agricultural, golf course, and commercial landscape installations operating within Class 125 pressure limits
  • Stormwater & Drainage Management — Gravity-flow and low-pressure stormwater conveyance transitions where a 10" Class 125 collection main connects to a 3" cleanout lateral, secondary outlet, or drain branch; smooth PVC interior minimizes turbulence and head loss at the step-down point
  • Water & Wastewater Treatment — Low-pressure treatment plant distribution header step-downs where 10" Class 125 primary mains transition to 3" chemical dosing lines, bypass circuits, sampling connections, or monitoring branch assemblies within the 125 PSI operating range
  • Landscape & Commercial Irrigation — Large-format irrigation system mainline step-downs on golf courses, sports complexes, parks, and commercial landscape installations where 10" Class 125 supply headers feed 3" zone valve or lateral assemblies at low-to-moderate operating pressures
  • Aquaculture & Recirculating Systems — Low-pressure recirculating system header transitions from 10" supply lines to 3" zone circuits, aeration injection feed lines, and chemical treatment branch connections in large commercial aquaculture and water treatment facilities
  • Industrial Cooling & Process Water — Low-pressure process water, cooling tower supply, and plant utility fluid header step-downs where Class 125 pressure capacity meets system design requirements and cost efficiency is a specification priority over Schedule 40 construction
  • Fire Suppression Support & Site Utility — Non-pressure and low-pressure underground utility transitions on commercial and campus-scale site water distribution systems where 10" Class 125 mains connect to 3" branch assemblies, risers, or equipment-side connections
