The 401-337 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing tee with a 3" × 3" run and a 1-1/2" branch outlet, all three connections in slip (socket) configuration for solvent cement installation. This fitting is the go-to solution when a 3" PVC main line needs to branch flow into a 1-1/2" lateral — one of the most common reducing tee combinations in commercial plumbing, irrigation, and industrial process piping. The all-socket design produces a permanent, pressure-rated joint when properly primed and cemented.

Molded from rigid PVC compound, the 401-337 offers excellent resistance to corrosion, chemical attack, and scale, making it well suited for potable water, reclaimed water, irrigation, and light industrial service. Schedule 40 wall construction maintains pressure performance in line with the system piping and meets ASTM D2466 dimensional standards.

For 3" socket connections, apply a full, even coat of PVC primer followed by a heavy-bodied or Schedule 40/80-rated solvent cement. Work quickly — at this diameter the assembly window is short. Seat the fitting with a quarter-turn twist and hold briefly until the joint sets. Follow solvent cement manufacturer instructions for cure time before pressurizing.
