The 801-250 is a 2" x 2" x 1-1/4" PVC Schedule 80 reducing tee in a full slip (socket) configuration across all three ports. The two run ports accept 2" plain-end pipe for solvent welding to form the straight-through main, while the 1-1/4" branch socket accepts smaller plain-end pipe at the 90° outlet — delivering a permanent, fully fused reducing branch connection in a single fitting without the need for a standard tee plus a separate bushing or reducer.

The reducing branch is the defining feature of the 801-250. Rather than requiring a full-size tee followed by a reducing bushing or adapter at the branch port, this fitting consolidates the branch and the size reduction into a single solvent-weld body. That matters in pressure piping: eliminating a stacked fitting at the branch point reduces the number of potential leak points in the assembly, simplifies the installation, and produces a cleaner, more compact fitting configuration — particularly in tight mechanical spaces where stacked fittings create clearance problems.

The 2" run with a 1-1/4" branch is a practical and frequently specified combination. The branch reduction is moderate enough that flow capacity through the outlet remains meaningful for most secondary distribution, instrument, or equipment feed applications, while the 2" main run passes full flow without restriction through the tee body.
