This 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/2" Schedule 80 PVC Reducing Tee (Slip x Slip x Slip) provides a three-way solvent-cement junction in which the branch outlet steps down to a smaller diameter than the inline run — the standard reducing tee configuration for tapping a smaller-diameter service line off a larger-diameter pressure main. Constructed in dark gray Schedule 80 PVC, it delivers the elevated wall thickness and pressure capacity required in industrial, chemical, and commercial piping installations where standard Schedule 40 fittings are insufficient.

The two 3/4" slip socket run ends form the inline portion of the tee and accept 3/4" PVC pipe for permanent solvent-cement bonds, maintaining full mainline diameter through the run. The 1/2" slip socket branch outlet accepts 1/2" PVC pipe for a permanent solvent-cement bond perpendicular to the run, providing a smaller-diameter tap point without interrupting or reducing flow through the main line. This configuration is among the most common in pressure piping systems — allowing a single 3/4" distribution main to serve multiple 1/2" branch connections to fixtures, instruments, chemical feed points, or smaller service lines without the need for separate inline reducer fittings at each tap location.

Rated to approximately 690 psi at 73°F (governed by the 3/4" run ends), this tee is well-suited for demanding pressure service across a broad range of industrial, chemical, and commercial fluid handling applications. Its PVC composition provides excellent resistance to acids, bases, salts, and chlorinated water, making it a durable long-term alternative to metal fittings in corrosive environments. NSF/ANSI 61 listing confirms suitability for potable water contact, including use in drinking water distribution and treatment systems.

Apply solvent cement to both the pipe end and fitting socket at each port per ASTM D2564 procedures, using a primer appropriate for the pipe and fitting schedule. Insert pipe fully into each socket and maintain a quarter-turn during assembly for even cement distribution across the joint surface. Allow adequate cure time before pressurizing the system, and derate pressure ratings for elevated temperatures per published derating curves.

Industries & Applications:

  • Industrial Process Piping — Taps 1/2" instrument lines, chemical feed connections, sample ports, and small-diameter service branches off 3/4" Schedule 80 distribution mains in chemical processing, water treatment, and manufacturing facilities where elevated pressure ratings are specified
  • Commercial Plumbing — Branches 1/2" fixture supply lines, gauge connections, and small-diameter service runs off 3/4" pressurized Schedule 80 mains in high-pressure or exposed commercial building water distribution systems
  • Irrigation & Water Distribution — Provides a compact, corrosion-resistant branch tap from 3/4" supply headers to 1/2" lateral feed lines, drip emitter connections, and solenoid valve inlets in agricultural and municipal irrigation systems requiring Schedule 80 pressure ratings
  • Chemical Handling — Performs reliably in systems conveying acids, caustics, fertilizer solutions, and other corrosive fluids incompatible with metal fittings, providing a pressure-rated branch tap point off 3/4" chemical distribution mains to 1/2" metering or injection lines
  • Water Treatment & Aquaculture — Used at recirculating system headers, filter feed manifolds, and treatment equipment distribution runs where 1/2" branch connections to dosing points, sampling taps, and monitoring instruments are required off a 3/4" Schedule 80 main
  • HVAC & Mechanical Systems — Branches 1/2" sensor leads, drain connections, and small-diameter service lines off 3/4" Schedule 80 mains on cooling tower distribution headers, chilled water loops, and chemically treated water systems
