The 875-532 is a 6" x 4" Schedule 80 PVC reducing wye with slip x slip x slip socket connections on all three outlets. The wye's 45° branch angle sets it apart from standard tee fittings — the angled lateral entry allows flow to merge or diverge more gradually, reducing turbulence, minimizing head loss, and lowering the risk of solids accumulation at the junction. This makes the wye the preferred fitting over a tee in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) configurations, gravity-flow drainage networks, and any system where smooth hydraulic transition at a branch point is a design priority.

The 6" run accepts Schedule 80 PVC pipe on both ends via solvent-weld slip sockets, while the 4" branch outlet accommodates a reduced lateral line — a common configuration when a 4" secondary drain, process line, or vent stack ties into a 6" main. All joints are bonded with IPS-approved PVC solvent cement, producing a fully fused, permanent connection rated to ASTM D2467 standards.

Manufactured from rigid, dark gray PVC compound, the 875-532 carries the full wall thickness advantage of Schedule 80 construction: greater mechanical strength, enhanced chemical resistance, and higher pressure capacity compared to Schedule 40 equivalents. These properties make Schedule 80 wyes the appropriate choice in industrial environments where fittings are exposed to impact, aggressive media, elevated system pressures, or UV and chemical contact.

Industries & Applications:

  • Industrial Drain, Waste & Vent (DWV) — Primary application for Schedule 80 wyes; the 45° branch geometry meets code requirements for horizontal drain line branch connections and reduces clog risk in gravity-flow waste systems
  • Chemical Processing & Manufacturing — Reducing branch junctions on chemical drain headers, process waste lines, and rinse water systems where PVC chemical resistance and Schedule 80 wall thickness are required
  • Municipal Wastewater & Stormwater — Large-diameter lateral connections on collection system mains and stormwater conveyance networks where smooth hydraulic flow transition minimizes pipe surcharging
  • Industrial Process Piping — Low-to-medium pressure branch takeoffs on process water, coolant, and utility fluid distribution systems requiring corrosion-resistant fittings with heavy-wall durability
  • Aquaculture & Water Treatment — Flow distribution and return manifold branching in large recirculating systems; the wye geometry supports directional flow management with minimal backpressure
  • Mining & Power Generation — Slurry drainage, cooling water returns, and process effluent branching in harsh industrial environments where Schedule 80 impact resistance outperforms Schedule 40
  • Pulp, Paper & Food Processing — Gravity-drain and washdown system branch junctions handling dilute chemicals, brine, wash water, and food-safe process fluids
  • Laboratory & Semiconductor Facilities — High-purity drain and waste collection branching where chemical-resistant Schedule 80 fittings are specified for aggressive effluent streams
